<p><strong>Side note: </strong> <em>My hiking buddy <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2486X583375&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fdpidgeon.wordpress.com&sref=rss" target="_blank">Suvid</a> and I have a tradition which involves yelling, &#8220;Yay, Jeans!&#8221; whenever we see someone wearing jeans on the trail.  We&#8217;re not trail snobs, but c&#8217;mon&#8230;jeans?  Plz.  It&#8217;s almost as silly as the time George Costanza suggested the Yankees switch to cotton uniforms from a polyester blend.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="KonaBody"><p>Ok, I&#8217;ll admit it:  I was wracking my brain trying to come up with something interesting to post tonight.  Something <em>trail</em> related, ya dig?  Then I stumbled upon a cheap bottle of vodka and instead got strangely nostalgic and ended up playing Oregon Trail for an hour.  Yes, you read that right&#8230;OREGON TRAIL.  If you&#8217;re like me, you spent a good portion of your pre-teen years playing  this epic game on an Apple IIe at school.  Perhaps you even filled your wagon with girls you liked, only to see them die of such terrible afflictions as cholera and dysentery (guess I should have bought them clothes before starting out from Independence in March!), or drown while trying to ford a river much too wide and deep.  Ah, the lessons we learn&#8230;</p>
